Congrats to College Commits Fiona Clancy & Lila Weaver!
There are people who teach golf, and then there are people who use their talents to help golfers get better and improve on and off the course. Monique Gesualdi, Coach Mo to her students, is one of those people who sees potential in every student and finds a way to help them get better across the board. She is most definitely a great teacher, and that's seen simply by tracking her student's improvement. There are so many "measurable" things that we could look at to see that she knows how to teach, but it's the immeasurable things that she does for each student that make her a GREAT teacher. Her students love coming to Academy, and they love working with her. They are excited to share their successes with her, and they reach out during tournaments for advice as well. She never ever tells them she doesn't have time for them, and she goes over above what teachers are "supposed" to do. I work with players on the mental side of the game, and when I first met Coach Mo, she was more interested in how I could help her improve as a teacher because she knew that would allow her to better help her students. She wanted to learn all she could about herself and how she could use her strengths to be a better instructor, communicator, listener, etc. She builds a connection with each student in a way that allows her to know how to motivate them and how to get them to learn in a fun setting. She truly makes a difference on and off the course with each one of her students, and she should most definitely be recognized as one of the best out there!
Before Coach Mo I worked with a few other coaches and none of them compare to the level of commitment Coach Mo puts into her students. She has been a pivotal part of my achieving goals and even setting goals. She individualizes my practices to ensure I'm working on things I need. She works with me on everything from drills, course management to mental toughness. Through her guidance and encouragement, I have pushed myself to reach for higher goals. She has helped me accomplish so many goals. Upon my commitment to play collegiate golf, Mo created an extremely comprehensive training plan to sharpen my swing, build my physical strength, and grow my confidence. Coach Mo leads by example. She is constantly striving for improvement in her own coaching skills and techniques. She is constantly looking for new information and drills to help her students grow and develop their game. Coach Mo goes the extra mile for her students, finding tournament opportunities, being available after tournaments to debrief and identify areas to improve and customizing training to fit the needs of the individual rather than just a group. She takes time to understand each of her students and the ways to connect with each as an individual golfer. Coaching isn't just a career for Coach Mo, it is her passion, and that passion has been incredibly beneficial to me. One of my favorite memories is the Hurricane National Championship final day I remember her watching me throughout almost the whole round; just cheering me on and encouraging me to keep fighting my way to the top. Mo's coaching has helped me become the golfer I am today.
Mo is a former highly nationally ranked junior golfer and four-year varsity player at D1 Furman. Though these experiences, Mo has learned how to motivate her students and identify what they need to work on. Coach Mo provides a supportive learning environment for junior golfers while constantly challenging them to improve. By way of example, Trey narrowly lost a HJGT tournament in Daytona the summer before leaving for college. He had won a tournament in Palm Beach earlier in the season, had his college plans set, and may have relaxed just a bit. While he was still putting in long practice hours, the time was being spent more on long drives than the short game. Mo had a frank conversation with Trey that he needed to put more time into putting-specifically three footers, if he wanted to reach his potential. Trey followed her advice and later that summer won the Southeastern Invitational- one of the ‘majors” of the HJGT-in a playoff by sinking a three-foot putt. It was a wonderful way to end his junior career. Since then, Mo has guided other students to victory on different tours, including the reigning Girl’s HJGT National Champion. Given the presence of numerous academies at the championships (Leadbetter Junior Academy, for example ) this is a stunning achievement. She understands the college golf placement system and what information is relevant and of interest to college coaches. Her astute knowledge of junior golf, superb communication skills and easy-to-work-with manner were critical components to our son finding the perfect fit with his college golf program. Another benefit of Mo’s experience is her extensive network of college coach contacts. While Trey was looking for the right school at which to continue his golf career, Mo reached out to several colleges, including Trey’s current collegiate coach. She effectively highlighted the relevant information a recruiter would want to know and was a compelling advocate for Trey. In addition to her abilities as a coach, Mo is one of the most impressive people that I know.
I met Mo at Furman in 2006. Since then, I have been lucky to call her my friend. She is an inspiration, especially to me. I was a walk-on my freshman year at Furman and relatively new to golf. I remember standing on the driving range, when Mo approached me. She was a senior at the time and assured me that I could let her know if I needed anything. I watched her hit balls for a bit and couldn't believe how effortless her swing was. As time went on, her love for the game taught me so much. That still holds true today. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she teaches us all how to love the game of golf. I have been through countless instructors around the world and learned so much about mechanics and course management, but Mo is the only one who taught me what every golfer needs to learn: to love the game and to never give up!
Mo is such a supportive, enthusiastic and dedicated coach. She will do anything to ensure her players are in the best possible position when it comes to preparing for tournaments. If you are going through a touch swing change, she will make sure you are comfortable with your swing and mentally prepared to perform at your best! She always makes time to ensure you're in a good spot--whether it's a FaceTime phone call the night before a tournament or a quick swing check-up . Not only is she is a great coach who is completely transparent with you and will push you to succeed; she's also an amazing friend and role model.
Coach Mo is a one and a million golf coach! She has an incredible depth of golf knowledge and puts it into easy terms for even a young golfer to understand. As a parent, you always hope to find that one coach who connects with your child and enhances their golf skills as well as their life skills. Coach Mo is that special coach! She is truly committed to golf and her students' success. All of Mo's students are lucky to have someone so knowledgeable and dedicated standing behind them and pouring her love for the game into them!
”Mo has really taught me so much, not only about my swing but also my mental view on golf and most of all how to enjoy it as much as anyone can. My game has improved and taken an amazing step forward. I was going from local tours and playing bogey golf to winning tournaments. Now I am always wanting to go as far under par I can, make any birdies I can and win as much as I can. Through all this it has been a joy and a pleasure to learn and work hard to get to where I am now.
Thanks Mo for everything!
Coach Mo is the most supportive and caring coach you will ever meet. She puts in a lot of time and effort for every single one of her students. Mo has taught me so much in golf and it has carried in to everyday parts of my life as well. My game has improved SO much ever since she started coaching me. When I first started going to Mo, I shot in the 60s for 9 holes. She coached me with drills and I now use drills every time I go practice. She has worked on everything with me: drilling, on-course scoring, and even mentality. Now a year later, I averaged a 44 in my high school matches and shot my personal best (86) at regionals! She has helped me gain confidence on the course and score better.
Mo always pushes all her students to be the best they can be as a golfer and a person. Mo has completely changed everything about my golf game and I am extremely grateful for that!
I've had many lessons over the years and Mo is by far the best instructor! What I love most is she works with your individual swing to make it better. Small tweaks over time vs. overhauls according to "what's right". I never leave feeling lost and months to get back, and in fact see results and start playing better immediately. Mo is extremely agile in her ability able to read you as a golfer/athlete, and tailor coaching what that will resonate most. With this approach, she's able to work with golfers of all skill levels. Looking forward to my next lesson!
I have been working with Mo for several years, personal training with her golf students. It is pleasure to work with another coach that is so passionate about her field and students. Mo goes above and beyond for her golfers. She takes her own time to make sure they become the best golfer they can be. I have never worked with a coach that communicates better than her and she has created an amazing team around her. She makes sure that her students get an all encompassing team to help with every part of golf both and and off the course. She works to help them grow both physically and mentally and gives them skills to not only help with golf but also with life. I highly recommend Mo as a golf coach and I'm honored to not only work with her but to be her friend.
Last year I was averaging 113 for 18 holes until I started to get lessons from Mo. After one year, I started averaging an 86. Now I am averaging high 70's and have shot even-par in a tournament. I climbed 2500 people in the Junior US Rankings. Mo has a good sense of humor and is an awesome golf coach. She always goes above and beyond to make us the best golfer and person we can be.
Coach Mo started instructing our daughter a couple of years ago and boy she was a piece of the puzzle we didn’t even know we were missing! Mo has provided more guidance than we ever thought possible. She has guided our daughter both on the course and off. She is extremely connected in all aspects of our child’s development and cares profoundly for her success. Because of her unique experience, she has guided our child with things like course management, opponent management and even balancing school with golf. Golf is an extremely demanding game both mentally and physically and Mo has made a tremendous impact in our daughter in both areas. Her commitment to her students is unlike any coaching I have experienced and we are profoundly lucky to have her as a coach.
Golf instructors all have their methods, their mantras and often times try to fit “square pegs into round holes” – not Coach Mo. She realizes we are all individuals and with her team she is able to motivate and optimize you and make you the best golfer you can be. Since working with Coach Mo 2023 has been my most successful year in winning several events/flights or finishing high in the standings. I’ve broken 80 the most this year as a golfer. Coach Mo knows that my busy work schedule limits my practice time so when we work together she knows exactly the direction to go with the lesson and we are always able to make notable progress. She has put the St. Johns Golf Academy on the map for making it one of the pre-eminent facilities in Northeast Florida. And with all of her success she continues to be focused and dedicated to her students. We are so fortunate to have her at St. Johns!
Mo is the best coach you’ll ever meet. She will not only help you grow as a player, but as a person as well. She helps with your game from drilling to course management, and all the way to mental game. Mo has the special touch that every student that she works with gets. She connects with every student on a personal level to help push her students to become better. Mo is one of the very few golf coaches that I have met who have consistently given the same amount of encouragement and support to every student who comes her way. It is truly a blessing and miracle to have her in my life, and in my journey as a golfer.

I've been to countless instructors, but Coach Mo is the only one that went back to basics to drastically improve my game! Not only does she work on swing, but also course management and mental game, which are all a huge part of golf!
I started getting instruction from Coach Mo over a year ago. Having played golf for over 40 years, I never learned the basic fundamentals of golf. I knew to bring my game to a new level; I needed professional instruction. Coach Mo at a point in my instruction encouraged me to start playing in tournaments and competitive matches to really elevate my game. She was right. My game and mental attitude is getting stronger and I won my flight in the Member-Guest. First golf tournament win ever!
Thank you for being an amazing golf coach, Mo. After 3 years, if you weren't here I would not be as good as I am now. You taught me everything. You're the best coach ever! Thank you! Best of luck in Florida!
Mo is a great golf coach and instructor with advanced technology, great visuals, insightful swing thoughts and a mastery of the fundamentals upon which to build a winning golf game. I learned a lot in a short amount of time, had fun, and most importantly, it made sense! I left with clear direction for my practice and playing.
Laurie is a beginner & went from an average of 113 to 90s after attending one Weekend Golf School.
